New and exciting role, based in Brighton

Ashley Kate are delighted to be supporting one of our clients, based in Brighton as they look to recruit for a full time, permanent, HR Partner to join their team.

The salary for this role is £50k per annum.

The right candidate will be expected to be onsite 4-5 days a week.

HR Partner:

Responsibilities include:

  • To act as the first point of call for HR related matters
  • To work closely with the Chief People Officer and the broader the HR team to contribute to and implement national initiatives
  • Provide on-site and remote, proactive support and undertake case management work
  • Responsible for the line management and development of the HR staff
  • To provide additional support to the wider HR team when necessary
  • Provide appropriate advice and guidance to senior staff, ensuring that advice is in line with policies and best practice.
  • Investigate employee complaints and grievances and recommend corrective actions.
  • Undertake HR induction for all new employees
  • Work with line managers to ensure that they are equipped to undertake necessary management duties and interventions i.e return to work meetings, capability etc
  • Maintain administrative oversight of key employment information and records including;
  • Conduct exit interviews and off-boarding procedures, analysing information gathered in these processes to help develop retention strategies and reduce turnover.
  • Oversee employment needs and /or programmes that support staffing, work with the HR to ensure that recruitment practice is effective
  • Provide coaching and guidance to management and employees in dealing with employment related issues and / or concerns. Escalation of sensitive or more complex cases to the Chief People Officer
  • Support the Chief People Officer in driving the performance management process and provide coaching to line managers to ensure the continuous development of employees.

Experience required:

  • Relevant experience either working as an HR Manager or HR Partner with high level of ER exposure.
  • Experience of working in a schools or the Education sector, essential.
  • CIPD L5 or L7 qualified, essential.
  • A solid understanding of UK employment legislation.
  • Ability to operate in a consultative manner, demonstrate confidence and ability to push back, whilst maintaining professional relationships
  • Be able to demonstrate successful management of recruitment, ER, Performance Management and the implementation of HR initiatives.
  • Extensive experience in providing robust, proactive employee relations advice
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good knowledge of working with HR Information Systems.
