Reed Finance are seeking a part time Finance Manager to join the strategic management team of our not-for-profit client. This role is crucial for managing the finance function and advising the Board on financial management issues.

The successful candidate will also play an important role in testing, reconciling, and implementing new systems and accounting packages.

Initially this role is expected for 16 hours per week, however this can be worked very flexibly.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Produce key monthly financial performance reports for the management team, finance committee and Board.
  • Assist with strategic planning by modelling financial data over a longer-term period and developing new MI from the new system.
  • Producing budgets & forecasts.
  • Advise the Board on financial, accounting and treasury management policies.
  • Leading a small team to ensure all financial processes are fully documented, liaising with internal auditors and addressing any issues of concern.
  • Test, reconcile, and ensure the new back office system and accounting package are operating to required standards.
  • Attend Finance Committee and Board meetings as required and work with the Management team on systems development.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of accounting standards (including FRS 102).
  • Experience in financial modelling and budget management, ideally within a not-for-profit environment.
  • Ability to lead and manage a team, ensuring compliance with internal and external regulations.
  • Proficient in using financial software and systems, with a capability to adapt to new technologies.
