Head of Payroll
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Head of Payroll to join a prestigious university with a workforce of approximately 2,500 staff. This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient and compliant processing of payroll and pension administration.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee the end-to-end payroll function, ensuring accurate and timely processing for all staff.

Lead and manage a team of four payroll professionals, providing guidance and support.

Ensure compliance with statutory regulations, payroll policies, and university procedures.

Administer and manage pension schemes, with a particular focus on LGPS (Local Government Pension Scheme).

Maintain and optimise the ResourceLink payroll system, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.

Work closely with HR, Finance, and external stakeholders to enhance payroll and pension processes.

Provide expert advice on payroll legislation, tax, NI, and pension regulations.

Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the payroll function.
Key Requirements:

Proven experience in payroll management within a higher education or public sector environment.

Strong knowledge of LGPS pensions and other public sector pension schemes.

Expertise in ResourceLink payroll system.

Excellent leadership and team management skills.
