Role Overview

As a School Science Technician, you will be providing support to the Science department and assisting in the preparation of practical lessons. This is a hands-on role where you will have the opportunity to work alongside teaching staff to deliver a high-quality science education for the students.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and set up equipment and materials for practical science lessons.
  • Assist in the maintenance and repair of laboratory equipment.
  • Ensure the safe storage and disposal of chemicals and materials.
  • Support teacher during practical lessons and experiments.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organised environment.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines and ensure compliance with safety protocols.
  • Support the teaching staff with general administrative tasks, including photocopying and creating learning resources.

Key Requirements

  • Experience working in a science-related environment within a school or educational setting.
  • Good knowledge of health and safety regulations within a scientific context.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • A proactive attitude with the ability to solve problems efficiently.
  • A relevant qualification in Science.
  • Previous experience in a technician role is preferred.
