Reed are currently recruiting for a Health and Safety Manager to join an established client of ours in the aviation industry. This is a permanent, part time role. The Health & Safety and Safety Manager (HSSM) is dual role that is responsible for the development, administration and maintenance of the Health & Safety and Safety Management System for the ATO and FSTD Operations

The Health and Safety Manager will...

• Implementing and maintaining Health & Safety policies and procedures, and ensuring the Company, its employees and contractors are compliant with Health and Safety Legislation• Ensuring staff have the relevant Health & Safety and Environmental training to enable them to carry out their tasks safely and compliant with Health & Safety and Environmental Legislation• Investigating incidents where required and gather all documentation in line with company policies• Reviewing internal Risk Assessments• Overseeing contractors Risk Assessments and Method Statements ensuring they are adhered to• Carrying out internal Audits, identifying areas for improvements• Carrying out monthly building / safety inspections• Carrying out Fire Safety Manager duties

The successful Health and Safety Manager will have...

• NEBOSH qualification or equivalent• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 suite (SharePoint, word, excel ,PowerPoint and Outlook)• High level of personal professional integrity• Ability to work independently or as part of a small team• Previous experience managing a SMS for AoC or ATO/FSTD operator would be an advantage but not essential
