Area ManagerSurrey£40,500 + car allowance

My client is seeking an experienced Area Manager to join their organisation. You will be leading and supporting a team of Estate Managers to ensure all the estates within your portfolio meet compliance requirements and provide an award-winning level of customer service. You will:

  • Cover a portfolio of estates across the South of England
  • Ensure all estate services are compliant with all legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Lead, motivate and manage team members
  • Monitor the service and provide effective solutions for improvement
  • Plan, control and authorise expenditure to ensure value for money is achieved for customers and leaseholders
  • Take swift action to resolve issues & report any significant areas of concern to the Head of Operations
  • Comply with internal reporting requirements to enable the leadership team to track business performance effectively
  • Network and build strong working relationships based on trust, with all stakeholders
  • Represent the business at stakeholder meetings providing supporting reports as required
  • Manage higher value/complex work contracts and projects to ensure work is delivered to time, budget and agreed quality standards
  • Identify opportunities to continually improve the business such as enhancing working practices, expanding the portfolio, achieving cost efficiencies.

The ideal candidate will:

  • Ideally be IRPM Qualified
  • Must have leasehold management experience
  • Deals effectively with the unexpected and enjoys overcoming difficult challenges
  • Be an experienced Line Manager (you will be managing a geographically dispersed team of lone workers)
  • Understand and have experience of Section 20 of the Landlord and Tenants Act
  • Know how to set budgets
  • Be experienced in holding resident meetings - i.e. Budget and Accounts meetings
  • Comfortable using own initiative to resolve issues calmly and to make things happen
  • Have a positive and proactive attitude
  • Have the ability to manage conflicting priorities and demonstrate progressive approach
  • Have experience of leading & developing high performance teams
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Work with a high level of detail
  • Have advanced working knowledge on Microsoft Office
  • Ideally have an understanding of QUBE software systems
  • Willingness to travel on a day-to-day basis
  • Have a full clean driving licence and use of a car

Working hours are Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
