About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Claims Adjuster to join our Property & Specialty team. You will be responsible for ensuring the prompt, accurate, and consistent adjustment and reserving of claims liabilities. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to team and regulatory compliance, while taking on key responsibilities in claim ngotiations and management.

Clais Adjustment & Reserving:

  • Promptly agree on valid claims and ensure they are paid.
  • Raise queries when additional information is required, and reject invalid claims.
  • Adjust the quantum of covered claims and resolve disputes.
  • Manage accurate reserves and eliminate redundant ones.
  • Liaise with co-insurers, internal/external lawyers, and adjusters.
  • Ensure compliance with all internal controls and procedures.

Regulatory Compliance & Conduct:

  • Maintain awareness of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF), Conduct Risk strategies, and Data Protection legislation (GDPR & Data Protection Act).
  • Follow all company and regulatory requirements.

Project Assistance:

  • Support team projects as required and be open to additional duties where necessary.

Relationships:

  • Internal: Collaborate across departments, including reinsurance, actuarial, and credit control.
  • External: Build and manage relationships with lawyers, loss adjusters, co-insurers, brokers, and insureds/cedants.

Authority:

You will hold a claims authority of up to USD 500,000.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in handling property and marine excess of loss reinsurance claims.
  • Strong knowledge of international insurance markets, particularly legacy business.
  • Familiarity with Lloyd’s minimum standards, market practices, and claims systems.
  • Proficiency in claims adjusting, negotiation, and dispute resolution.

Skills:

  • Excellent literacy and numeracy.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Analytical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Diligence and time management.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ECF, ImageRight, and PINS.
