Responsibilities:
- Lead technical studies, feasibility assessments, and Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs), alongside writing detailed reports and producing plans and designs
- Develop detailed designs from concept to construction, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, best practices, and industry standards
- Design SuDS (Sustainable Drainage Systems) to manage flood risks and improve water quality
- Evaluate the sustainability and environmental impact of projects
- Oversee site investigations and analyse the data collected
- Efficiently manage resources and ensure timely delivery of projects
- Liaise with architects, contractors, consultants, statutory authorities, colleagues, and clients
- Utilize CAD software (MicroDrainage, Civils 3D, etc.) to support design work
- Mentor and support Trainee Engineers, Technicians, and Graduates
- Collaborate effectively with Line Management and team members
About You:
Experience and Qualifications:
- BEng/MEng in Civil or Construction Engineering (or similar)
- Practical experience with MicroDrainage and/or Civils 3D is highly desirable
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities
- Experience producing technical reports, specifications, and sketches
- Ability to maintain client relationships, providing updates on progress and addressing issues as they arise
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Familiarity with design/analysis software and CAD systems
- Creative thinking when it comes to design and development challenges
Desired Skills:
- Geotechnical or geo-environmental knowledge
- Strong team player, with the ability to work independently and guide junior staff
- Solid project engineering experience
