About Us
A well-established contractor that works both in the domestic and commercial space. They have other teams' setup to deal specifically with various subcontract packages also.
Job Summary
You will work closely with our dynamic and lively management team to ensure the smooth running of business. It is a varied role and, although it is a mainly construction administration role, a very good understanding of both accounts administration and Xero are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Tracking and approving all purchase invoices - daily/weekly
- Confirming/authorising timesheets of all labour on all projects - daily/weekly
- Credit Control - daily/weekly
- Fleet management - ad hoc
- Administration of retention sums for completed projects - daily/weekly
- Supporting management in applying for monthly/fortnightly payments for each project - monthly/fortnightly
- Ensuring clients are charged correctly, including any extra labour and materials and correct VAT amount applicable depending on the type pf project - ad hoc
- Answering phone calls and either direct them to the appropriate staff members or take messages - daily/ad hoc
- Provide administrative support to the management and site team, such as preparing documents, e-filing, producing reports and presentations and anything else required for the smooth running of the business - daily/ad hoc
- Ensure all office supplies are stocked up and order new supplies as/when needed - weekly/monthly
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills and a professional telephone manner
- Able to take instructions by the management team
- Proficient bookkeeping
- Proficient in Outlook, Word and Excel
- Proficient in Xero/Dext
- Previous experience in a customer service or administrative role is essential
- Previous experience in a construction administration role is essential
- Ability to work both collaboratively as a team member and on own initiative
- Minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) with A-C grades, including Maths and English.
General Information
- Working hours: 20-25 hours per week (TBC)
- Employment type: Permanent/Part Time
- Probation period: 6 months
- Statutory Paid Annual Leave: 28 days including bank holidays (pro-rata)
- Sick Leave: Statutory only
- Salary: 16.00 per hour for the duration of the probation period - to be reviewed once permanent employment is confirmed on completion of probation period and depending on experience.

Schedule and Location
- Days: Monday to Friday, 4-5 hours per day.
