Estimator

Fawkes and Reece are currently working with one of the fastest growing Building Maintenance and Fit Out companies in the UK. They are seeking an Estimator in Brighton. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to small-scale projects and work closely with subcontractors to deliver high-quality results.

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for small construction projects, including materials, labour, and equipment.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with subcontractors to secure competitive pricing.

• Review project specifications, drawings, and documents to determine accurate costings.
• Collaborate with project managers and other team members to develop and refine budgets.
• Analyse market rates, trends, and conditions to ensure competitive estimates.
• Track and manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines for tender submissions.
• Provide value engineering solutions to optimise project costs without compromising quality.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders.

• Proven experience as a Construction Estimator, preferably on small projects.
• Strong knowledge of subcontractor sourcing, pricing, and negotiation processes.
• Excellent understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
• Exceptional numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work under tight deadlines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with subcontractors and team members effectively.
• A proactive and organised approach to work.
• A background in construction or related qualifications is preferred.
