About Us:My client is a leading fit-out specialist based in Brighton, delivering high-quality projects across the retail, hospitality, leisure, and healthcare sectors. Their dynamic portfolio ranges from high-end retail spaces to bespoke healthcare environments, and they pride themselves on creating exceptional interiors for their clients.

I am looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the team, with a consultancy background and strong commercial skills to help deliver on a variety of exciting projects.

Key Responsibilities:As a Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of the financial management and cost control of a range of fit-out projects. Your key duties will include:

  • Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
  • Managing and controlling project budgets, ensuring value for money and quality
  • Conducting cost analysis, risk assessments, and managing procurement strategies
  • Leading the preparation of valuations, variation orders, and final accounts
  • Managing project costs from inception to completion, reporting on financial performance
  • Liaising with clients, contractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project delivery
  • Negotiating contracts, pricing, and terms to deliver the best outcomes
  • Advising on procurement strategies and contract selection
  • Overseeing subcontractor relationships and ensuring compliance with agreed terms

About You:

  • Consultancy experience in the construction or fit-out industry is desired
  • Relevant degree or qualifications in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Quantity Surveyor, ideally within the retail, hospitality, leisure, or healthcare sectors
  • Strong understanding of contract management and cost control principles
  • Proven experience in managing high-value projects
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Attention to detail and strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Familiarity with construction contracts such as JCT or NEC
