Our client, a leading consultancy in the South of the UK, is seeking skilled Quantity Surveyors at all experience levels to join their team. This role presents an exciting opportunity for professionals with NEC experience, ideally in the Water industry. However, those with experience in Highways, Utilities, or other transferable sectors are also encouraged to apply.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide cost management support across Water industry projects, ensuring effective budgeting and financial control.
  • Work with NEC contracts, providing advice on contractual matters and managing the administration of contracts.
  • Prepare cost estimates, manage budgets, and track project performance.
  • Conduct risk assessments and provide recommendations for cost-effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with project teams to resolve issues and support successful project delivery.
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and suppliers to maintain strong working relationships.
  • Contribute to the development of tender documentation and evaluate bids.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of final accounts.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members where appropriate.


Job Requirements:

  • Experience working with NEC contracts (experience in Water, Highways, Utilities, or similar industries is highly desirable).
  • Proven experience in quantity surveying, either in a consultancy or contractor environment.
  • Strong understanding of project cost management and financial control.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to liaise with clients and stakeholders.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and an ability to work under pressure.
  • Full driving licence (due to the nature of the role and travel requirements).


Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in the Water industry is ideal but not mandatory.
  • Chartership support or desire to work towards becoming Chartered.
  • Experience with project risk management and contract administration.
