Grafton Banks Finance are working with a well-respected commercial company with offices in Brighton, East Sussex to recruit a Finance Assistant on a full time permanent basis. Working hybrid 2-3 days in office and the rest from home. Working within a small friendly team and reporting into the Group Financial Controller you will be supporting with the smooth running of the company’s finances ensuring efficient processing of all invoices, payments and reconciliation's are made.

Duties and Responsibilities will include:

  • Manage the procure to payment process, including but not exclusively PO’s, invoicing, account reconciliation, supplier queries and payments.
  • Aged creditors & debtors reporting
  • Payment reporting for cash flow modelling
  • Preparation & production of Agent invoices and statements
  • Self-billing documentation production
  • Allocation of receipts to Sales Ledger
  • Monitor aged debt across all sales channels, including actively chasing for outstanding agent payments through email and call
  • Dealing with all queries
  • Process payment transfers and credit notes
  • Process overhead accruals and prepayments
  • Balance sheet reconciliations – various, including control accounts and Banks
  • Controlling and reconciling the company credit cards
  • Play an active part within the wider finance team on ad hoc projects and various reporting requirements as they arise

The successful candidate will ideally be studying towards their AAT or equivalent alongside having practical working experience within Accounts payable and or a wider Finance Assistant based role.  You will need excellent communication skills to work within a team, with clients and suppliers both internally and externally within the business. You will need strong IT skills to be able to manage the finance data. You will need to have a positive attitude and be enthusiastic as well as adaptable working in a fast paced commercial environment.
