We are seeking a dedicated Design Technology Teacher to join our dynamic educational team. This role is crucial in maintaining and enhancing the standards of teaching and learning in our school. The successful candidate will work closely with the Headteacher and Core Subject Team Leader to contribute to our goal of being an outstanding learning environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead pupil learning through effective teaching aligned with the Subject Team’s schemes of work and policies.
  • Manage the processes of identification, assessment, recording, and reporting for the pupils in charge.
  • Develop and improve schemes of work and contribute to the Team Improvement Plan (TIP).
  • Employ a variety of teaching methods, including practical workshops, group work, and ICT, to meet curricular objectives and cater to a range of pupil needs.
  • Ensure equal opportunities for all pupils to succeed through differentiated teaching and Assessment for Learning.
  • Set and mark work regularly, maintaining an accurate register of pupils for each lesson.
  • Prepare and present informative, helpful, and accurate reports to parents.
  • Track pupil progress and utilize performance data to inform teaching practices and raise standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) in Secondary Education, specifically in Design Technology.
  • Thorough knowledge of the National Curriculum, particularly in Design Technology.
  • Experience in leading classroom and workshop activities, assessment, and reporting.
  • Ability to plan effectively to ensure continuity, progression, and cohesiveness in teaching.
  • Strong communication skills for effective interaction with pupils, parents, and colleagues.
  • Commitment to professional development and maintaining professional standards.
