Reed Education are supporting a local secondary school in their search for a Geography Teacher. This role is to start ASAPÂ to cover maternity.Â
They are seeking an exceptional leader to head their thriving Geography department. This is a pivotal role for someone passionate about Geography, aiming to inspire students and elevate their achievements.Â
Day-to-day of the role:- Provide effective middle leadership and model excellence within the Geography department.
- Implement and deliver the School Improvement Plan’s aims specifically tailored to Geography.
- Oversee a culture of effective and accurate quality assurance to raise standards across the team.
- Lead the subject area to ensure a high standard of behaviour in all lessons.
- Support team members in meeting deadlines and adhering to school procedures and policies.
- Identify training needs within the team and allocate resources to meet these needs.
- Ensure effective communication within the team and the wider school community.
- Promote and generate excitement for Geography, enhancing its presence and importance within the school curriculum.
- Conduct appraisals for relevant staff members.
- Proven experience in educational leadership, particularly within Geography.
- Strong understanding of curriculum development and quality assurance processes.
- Ability to lead and inspire a team of educators.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Commitment to fostering a lifelong love of Geography among students.
- Ability to strategise and implement effective teaching and learning enhancements.
- Experience in handling appraisal processes and staff development.
