We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Primary SEN Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a student with special educational needs in a vibrant primary school in Brighton. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual who is passionate about making a positive difference to the educational experience of children with additional needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support to a student with SEN, ensuring they are able to fully engage with the curriculum.
- Assist with the development and implementation of individual learning plans and strategies.
- Support the student with tasks, encouraging independence and building confidence.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to monitor progress and adapt support as needed.
- Provide emotional and behavioural support where necessary, promoting a positive learning experience.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of the student at all times.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN), ideally in a school setting.
- Demonstrates a patient, nurturing, and empathetic approach to supporting children.
- Has a strong understanding of various learning difficulties and strategies to support them.
- Is able to adapt to the needs of individual children and provide flexible support.

Experience, Training and Qualifications
- GCSE's or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year working with children
- Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year
Eligibility
- Hold Right to Work in the UK
- Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
- Provide two professional child related references
