  • Duration- For 6 months temporary work

About the role Switchboard Operator role-

  • We are seeking a confident switchboard operator for this role
  • Someone flexible to cover at two locations at short notice
  • Working with both internal staff and patients calls coming in
  • Will be responsible for operating emergency procedures, including but not limited to Cardiac Arrest, Fire alarms, carry out test calls
  • Order taxis for out of hours hospital staff
  • Effectively dealing with responses to maintenance for equipment, monitoring alarms, medical alarms, boiler alarms
  • Dealing with on call wake up calls
  • Updating the log books
  • Dealing with difficult situations and able to work well under pressure

Skills and Education required-

  • English GCSE C grade or above
  • Excellent telephone manner
  • Previous switchboard experience, ideally working with the NHS
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Good ICT skills, logging information accurately on a VDU
  • Clerical experience
