Job Overview:

As a Vehicle Technician, you will be crucial in maintaining and repairing a wide range of vehicles, ensuring they meet the highest standards. You will also perform MOT tests, which will involve inspecting various vehicle components and ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations. This role offers the chance to work with a well-established main dealer in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on a variety of vehicles, including oil changes, brake servicing, and tire replacements.
  • Conduct MOT tests on vehicles, including inspecting brakes, suspension, lights, exhaust systems, and tires to ensure compliance with legal standards.
  • Use advanced diagnostic tools and equipment to assess vehicle systems, identify faults, and recommend necessary repairs.
  • Document test results and any issues discovered during inspections, providing detailed reports to customers.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, explaining repair needs and costs clearly, and providing recommendations for necessary repairs.
  • Maintain and calibrate testing equipment to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of all services and repairs performed, including MOT certificates and related documentation.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of work.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Vehicle Technician in a similar role.
  • Relevant qualifications in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, such as NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
  • Experience and certification as an MOT Tester are advantageous but not essential.
  • Strong diagnostic skills and experience with modern diagnostic tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers.
  • Full UK driving license.
