Westlakes Recruit are currently recruiting for a 3D Modelling Engineer/BIM Technician, with a background in Nuclear or Defence, to be engaged on a permanent basis, based in either Warrington or Bristol.

Key responsibilities will be:


  • 3D layout, modelling and design using TEKLA

  • Develop 3D models using TEKLA, detail reinforcement within 3D models using TEKLA, resolve clashes within TEKLA models

  • Receive, analyse and verify the consistency of the input data

  • Produce design deliverables (assumption notes, technical specifications etc.)

  • Technical verifications of civil engineering documents

  • Create and maintain CDM Designers Risk Registers and associated CDM deliverables


Qualifications


  • Civil and/or structural engineering degree (or similar) qualification

  • Working towards chartership or Incorporated Membership with ICE or IStructE

  • Experience of design/detailing/modelling of reinforced concrete and steel structures

  • Design experience in nuclear context (or similar highly regulated context)

  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant Health and Safety regulations

  • Understanding of the use of design tools within a BIM environment

  • Good communication skills and ability to articulate information to a broad range of stakeholders

  • UK Nuclear Licensing and Generic Design Assessment process experience is desirable
