The Opportunity:

With 44% year-on-year growth and receiving investment from the UK's largest bank, we are still in our high-growth phase. This year we've already secured several new strategic partnerships with prestigious Higher Education Universities across the UK. We currently have an opportunity to join Hybrid as a Financial Accountant, where you'll play a pivotal role in the financial control, insights and process improvement.

We’re looking for an ambitious Financial Accountant to be responsible for managing the monthly management accounts process, preparing analysis to assist on commercial decision making, financial performance and reporting and aspects of financial control. The role will include integration of acquired companies, as needed, as well as continual process improvement

The day-to-day:

  • Monitor capex and maintain fixed asset register
  • Prepare monthly Balance Sheet reconciliations
  • Support with Cashflow management.
  • Prepare global payroll including commissions and bonus calculations and liaise with external payroll bureaus
  • Support with preparation of the monthly board pack and provide key variance analysis, first stage review
  • Management of global compliance including Payroll, Tax, Account filings and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and financial reporting standards
  • Support external auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is maintained and timely completion of the year-end audit
  • Support the preparation of the company’s budget and 3 year forecast
  • Work with various stakeholders across the business to manage spend and budgets
  • Challenging current ways of working, driving efficiencies and cost savings wherever possible
  • Build strong relationships with managers and teams across the business
  • Work closely with the Finance Director to support on initiatives for business and process improvement
  • Work closely with the Finance Director to take on the payroll function for the Group, working with the SLT to ensure accuracy and timely processing

You should have:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Strong financial acumen and attention to details
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work closely with all departments and have the confidence to challenge and probe.
  • A strong understanding of financial statistics and accounting principles
  • Working knowledge of statutory legislation and regulations
  • Enthusiasm to be part of a growing company in a rapidly changing digital media market.
  • Initiative to identify financial opportunities and to champion process improvements across Hybrid.
