Financial Controller wanted for client based in Bristol (within a 45-minute radius preferred)

About the role:

We are currently looking for a Financial Controller to work on a contract basis with one of our existing clients in the Bristol area. You should ideally have experience with ERP systems, WIP monitoring, and detailed cost analysis. While the financial basics are in place, there is a strong need for an FC to continue to improve reporting standards.

About You:You are a qualified and experienced Financial Controller with proven experience supporting growing SMEs. Ideally, you are already self-employed and will need to commit to at least 4 days per week.

Your expertise should include:

  • Management accounts

  • Balance sheet reconciliations

  • Cashflow and profit forecasting

  • Experience with integrated stock control and project costing system

  • Commercial insight and strategic support

  • Managing year-end routine and liaising with accountants but not preparing statutory accounts

  • Excel skills, including pivots, SUMIFs, and graphs

  • Presenting financial and commercial insights to non-finance stakeholders

  • You must be fully qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACMA/FCCA/ICAEW) or QBE (5+ years) with experience leading a small finance team.

  • Ideal experience in:

    • ERP systems with integrated stock control and project management

    • WIP monitoring and calculations

    • Detailed cost analysis

  • Commitment: 4 days per week (self-employed basis)
