This £multibillion organisation is working on a number of large scale projects, and needs additional interim resource to support balance sheet management, statutory reporting and UK group accounting in line with IFRS/UK GAAP.
As the Financial Accountant, your responsibilities will include (but given the project basis of this role, not be limited to):
- Outlining relevant financial controls and processes, and producing accounts in line with IFRS and the group's accounting policies
- Application of UK GAAP to produce the UK business' statutory accounts
- Supporting the tax team with tax computations and general queries
- Producing financial reports using the SAP system, and development of new reporting tools
- Interrogation and due diligence of the balance sheet
- Identification of operational risks, and implementing strong controls and governance to mitigate
- Analysis of data trends using understanding of the UK business operations
- Continuous improvement of group policy, controls and governance, and reporting methodologies
- Communication of financial information to relevant stakeholders outside of the finance team
You will be either a qualified accountant or QBE with significant relevant experience. It would be advantageous to have worked in multiple contracts with demonstrable experience of hitting the ground running in technically-challenging positions. If you have a history working with SAP, that would be beneficial, though we welcome anyone with strong ERP abilities.
