Robert Half are currently seeking an experienced Interim Financial Controller for a dynamic organisation transitioning from a owner managed to a more structured and profitable entity. This site-based role is essential for managing financial operations during a period of significant growth, with the potential to help the business achieve a turnover of £50 million.

Job Title: Interim Financial Controller

Location: Central BristolDuration: 2-3 months on siteWork Schedule: 4-5 days a week in the officeRate: £300-£400 per day

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the finance function to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including the preparation of monthly management packs for board-level insights.
  • Oversee a small finance team, providing mentorship and support to an additional accountant during this transition.
  • Develop and implement the annual budget, leveraging historical data and market analysis to create realistic forecasts.
  • Establish and maintain a rolling cash flow forecast to ensure financial stability amid increasing operational demands.
  • Optimise the ERP system (MS Dynamics) to enhance financial processes and ensure data accuracy.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to guarantee compliance and accuracy in financial reporting, addressing any issues from past audits.
  • Work closely with the operations team to analyse costs and profitability, informing pricing strategies and operational improvements.

Qualifications:

  • CIMA qualified or equivalent, with substantial experience in a financial leadership role, preferably within the manufacturing sector.
  • Proven track record of improving financial processes and reporting in a growing organisation.
  • Experience with ERP systems, particularly MS Dynamics, is highly desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
  • A proactive and adaptable approach to navigating the challenges of a transitioning business landscape.
