Your new roleHays is working with a not-for-profit organisation in Bristol that are looking for a Management Accountant on a temporary basis for 3 months. The post holder will provide financial support, guidance and expertise to enable the provision of an effective service to customers. Pay for the role is £20.52 per hour + holiday, 37 hours. This role offers hybrid working 2 days a week in the office. Main duties of the role include:

  • Act as a business partner to budget holders, serving as their primary contact for monthly financial analysis, forecast development, budget creation, and decision-making support.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Financial Reporting & Controls to develop and deliver budget reports, and ensure compliance with statutory requirements for both internal and external financial reporting.
  • Support the ongoing disposal strategy, leading to financial aspects of option appraisals alongside the Head of Financial Reporting & Controls.
  • Conduct investment appraisals and perform sensitivity analysis.
  • Assist in maintaining the financial components of the organisation's asset management system.
  • Monitor capital, development, and sales programs, and help maintain the fixed asset register.
  • Work with the Finance Team to enhance reporting for the directorate, including reports
  • Provide financial assurance to the Homes Director.
  • Challenge and solve complex financial scenarios, identifying new and alternative income streams to support the directorate's income recognition process.
  • Offer financial support for opportunities that involve joint ventures or other commercial structures.
  • Assist the Development Team with financial reporting to stakeholders and grant providers, such as local authorities
  • Develop and maintain key processes, shaping future delivery opportunities.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Part-qualified or qualified by experience
  • Experienced at supporting the production of monthly reporting
  • Strong technical accounting background
  • Experienced in building relationships with operational colleagues.
  • Experience of analysing financial performance and converting data to insight.
  • Strong communication skills
  • Excellent IT skills
  • Motivated
