The Hays Bristol senior finance team are recruiting for a qualified project and systems accountant interim role (for one of our Bristol clients). We are looking for someone who can embed quickly into their finance team, get up and running with key stakeholders and develop financial models to help support the team. The current systems & project accountant has been moved from the BAU role onto a Sap4hana implementation project which is due to go live early next year.You will need to ensure that system changes are implemented smoothly and embedded into the team quickly for the new financial year.

  • December 2024 start - initially booked for 3 months (3-month extension likely)
  • Preference on 1 day a week in the Bristol office (Central Bristol)
  • Requires current & valid (active) security clearance
  • Looking for someone with strong excel skillset, data migration abilities / tech-savvyKey requirements of the role:

*To prepare short, medium and long-term financial modelling to support key decision-making within the organisation.*To lead within the team on the implementation of new financial systems, appraising the implications of proposed changes and working with partners to achieve a smooth implementation, maximising the opportunitiesEssential Skills & Requirements: *Full professional qualification in accountancy, CCAB or CIMA with current membership of a professional body.

*Experience of building financial models in a financial modelling role that required understanding of financial and accounting concepts or project finance within public sector/civil service

*Positive approach, with strong analytical and interpretive skills and the ability to think through a problem, applying a logical methodology to develop a solution even under time pressure.

*Excellent project management skills.

*Vigilance and sustained attention to detail.

*Ability to quickly assimilate and apply new techniques and knowledge.

*Strong relationship/stakeholder management skills with the ability to persuade, influence and motivate others to engage actively in good financial management.*Describe complex technical issues in a clear non-technical way and utilise excellent verbal and written communication skills.

*Working with SAP and outsourced shared service centres.

*Implementation of new accounting systems
