I am working with a dynamic fast growth business in central Bristol who are looking for an exceptionally commercial Accountant to partner their Product Director as an invaluable addition to the Leadership Team and to support their largest product line by revenue (£500m).
Hybrid working 2-3 days onsite.
What you’ll be doing
You will be responsible for providing commercial finance expertise to Business Line Leadership, delivering financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting & planning, as well as creating insightful analysis.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders across the business to develop an in depth understanding of the Business Line proposition, its clients, and their journeys.
Helping key stakeholders and leadership understand the revenue and cost opportunities and how product and journey design impacts financial performance
Building understanding to co-create the three-year plan and budgets, whilst ensuring risks and opportunities are considered, identified and registered, with remediation plans put into place and delivered.
Maintaining investment analysis; including propositional development, pricing, incentives, OD investment.
Collaborate with colleagues in the Data team to prepare Financial Management Information, combining financial and non-financial data
Taking ownership of forecasting, ensuring projections have strong commercial rationale, and are activity driven wherever possible.
Develop understanding of new business sales pipeline, conversion, revenue, and direct costs.
Work closely with the business and broader Finance team, to create accurate profitability analysis.
Support and where appropriate lead on competitor analysis to inform propositional investment opportunities, activity, and cost benchmarking.
Contributing a balanced voice of the client, colleague, and shareholder
Working across Financial Control and Commercial Finance to ensure best practice ways of working.
About you
- A qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, ACA) with substantial commercial post qualified experience
- Ability to understand the strategic business goals of an organisation, including revenue streams and pricing, with the ability to 'look beyond the numbers’ and understand the wider business context
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organisation
- Analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights and interpret the impact of both financial and non-financial commercial decisions
- Strong financial modelling and analytical capabilities, with advanced Excel skills
- Initiative-taking, results-oriented, and commercial mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast paced, high growth environment
