Tax Partner in Bristol

Ideally, you’ll be CTA qualified with further accountancy qualifications (STEP, ACA, ACCA, CA) being desirable, you will need to be technically proficient and have extensive tax advisory and planning experience, supporting both corporate, venture capital backed and owner managed businesses alongside considerable experience working within an accountancy firm environment.

You will be the first point of contact for clients and team members regarding tax, so you will need to be a strong communicator, presenter and networker.

Your attention to detail will be excellent and you will be a natural problem-solver; you’ll be motivated to support the wider team and confident in your abilities as part of a team of leaders.

You will be a sound mentor for junior staff and support your fellow Partners to nurture their valued and loyal workforce through continued development and improvement.

You’ll also be commercially aware and able to offer the firm innovative ideas for growth; you’ll be a great networker and confident pitching services to an audience.

What are we looking for?

  • CTA, ACCA/ACA or CA qualified with additional accountancy or degree level qualifications, a distinct advantage.
  • Demonstrable leadership experience of working in accountancy practice within the tax team.
  • People and performance management.
  • The ability to provide first-class advice for clients from a vast portfolio of varying sectors and sizes.
  • Experience advising on re-organisations and mergers.
  • Experience advising on sales of assets and company shares.
  • Capital Gains Tax Advisory Services.
  • Share valuations and scheme planning.
  • Tax advice relating to property.
  • Trust tax advice and planning.
  • Technically proficient with a strong working knowledge of both corporate, venture backed and owner-managed business tax.
  • First-class communication skills.
  • An appetite to proactively grow the business and be involved with strategic and marketing processes in line with this goal.
  • The foresight and confidence to provide and present proactive advice to clients and discuss opportunities with fellow Partners.
  • A strong leader and team player that encourages and motivates others.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to produce work in a timely manner.

Job Purpose

  • Leading a team of tax accountants at an established and growing firm of accountants.
  • Working alongside fellow Partners, managing a portfolio of corporate and OMB clients in a wide variety of tax specific areas.
  • Lead advisory work with clients.
  • Advising on various tax due diligence exercises.
  • Oversight of department budgets, cashflow, invoicing and debt collection.
  • Nurturing the tax team and ensuring that clients receive excellent customer service and support.
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure that clients receive the benefit of all business services.
  • Working closely with other departments to ensure client deadlines and requirements are met.
  • Providing training and development for colleagues and team members.
  • Representing the company at networking and business events, identifying new business opportunities.
  • Identify opportunities to introduce and cross-sell company services to new and existing clients.
  • Use a commercial mindset to strategically drive the tax offering and promote the tax capabilities with other team members.
