We are seeking a dedicated School Administrator to join our team, providing essential administrative support and serving as a key point of contact for parents and visitors. This role is crucial for the smooth operation of our school, ensuring effective communication and the efficient management of school administrative tasks.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Administration:
    • Collate statistics on various school activities using existing spreadsheets and databases.
    • Maintain and set up file systems, ensuring information is easily retrievable.
    • Archive school records according to procedures.
    • Take, type up, and distribute minutes of meetings.
    • Manage photocopying tasks and report any equipment breakdowns.
    • Order and check delivery of stationery and office equipment in line with school protocols.
    • Handle and record monetary transactions for various school activities.
  • Reception:
    • Professionally and promptly handle incoming calls.
    • Accurately take and relay messages to colleagues, parents, or visitors.
    • Address most enquiries using established school guidelines and direct others to appropriate personnel.
    • Communicate daily meal numbers to kitchen staff as per school procedures.
    • Manage the collection and distribution of documents and mail.
  • Use of ICT / ICT Support:
    • Input and manage data on databases and spreadsheets.
    • Produce and edit documents using Microsoft Office.
    • Generate reports from databases and spreadsheets.
    • Support colleagues with ICT-related queries and tasks.
  • Ad Hoc Tasks and General Duties:
    • Monitor administrative and hygiene supplies, reporting any shortages or needs.
    • Adhere to safe working practices and maintain a safe working environment.
    • Implement safeguarding procedures in alignment with school and local authority policies.
    • Ensure high standards of work and compliance with current legislation and standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience in an administrative role, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Strong competency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with database management.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding policies and health and safety regulations.
