Eden Brown are working with a private client who are looking for a specialist neuro physiotherapist to their Brain Injury Rehabilitation unit in Bristol.

As a Physiotherapist on the team you will provide a specialist rehabilitation to patients with complex neurological needs following acquired or traumatic brain injury and other neurological conditions.

What you'll be doing:

Your clinical work will cover:

  • Medical and physical management of spasticity including splinting and serial casting
  • Complex postural management
  • Disorders of consciousness
  • Assessment for and provision of orthotics
  • Hydrotherapy
  • Use of specialist equipment e.g. the Lite-Gait overhead walking harness and treadmill; Quest electric standing frames; standard and motomed exercise bikes and tilt tables
  • Management of Behaviours that Challenge
  • Tracheostomy management and weaning
  • Patient centred goal setting
  • Keeping people safe from any harm and protecting their human rights.

Managerial duties will involve:

  • Take a pro-active and supportive role in service development
  • Provide supervision and appraisal for team members
  • Deliver both local in-service and more formal training
  • Be involved in centre wide initiatives

You will receive excellent clinical support and supervision with a commitment to your ongoing training and development.

To be considered for this role you will need:

  • HCPC registration
  • Previous neurorehabilitation experience
  • Tracheostomy training is essential
  • Post graduate training e.g., in Normal Movement, Movement Science, or other neuro specific courses would be an advantage
