VACANCY - SEO STRATEGIST

ESS Employment are advertising on behalf of an established client for an SEO Strategist to join their marketing team, which focuses on both Retail and Trade/Professional sectors in the home and garden improvement market. You may also assist with website activities in other areas of the business when needed.

Key responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an SEO strategy to improve website performance and search rankings.
  • Conduct keyword research to guide blog and content creation.
  • Manage website product pages and categories, ensuring they are optimised for search engines.
  • Implement relevant People Also Asked (PAA) questions and Product Schema markup to improve SEO.
  • Enhance Google credibility through E-E-A-T (Experience, Expertise, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness) signals.
  • Perform competitor analysis and identify opportunities to fill gaps in SEO strategy.
  • Provide regular performance reports using Google platforms such as GA4 and Google Search Console.
  • Track user journeys and suggest improvements for conversion rate optimisation (CRO).
  • Suggest backlink opportunities and manage internal links to strengthen SEO.
  • Monitor changes in SEO practices and algorithm updates to maintain high search rankings.
  • Work closely with writers, designers, and the marketing team to ensure SEO goals are met.

Requirements:

  • Strong reporting skills, especially using GA4, with an analytical mindset.
  • A collaborative team player who adds value to marketing efforts.
  • A self-starter with a results-driven approach.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to think ahead.
  • At least 3 years of SEO experience (agency or in-house).
  • HTML programming knowledge and e-commerce experience are a plus.
  • A full, clean driving license with access to a car is required.
