Belcan Workforce Solutions is currently looking for a Skilled Aircraft Fitter to work for one of our clients based in Filton, UK.

Role Overview:
Our Filton site, with its rich aeronautical history, is a key location for designing, testing, and manufacturing wings for various commercial and military aircraft in the UK, is collaborating with the world's largest aircraft manufacturer to recruit Skilled Aircraft Fitters for our renowned Filton site. You will join the Build Production team to work on a range of aircraft.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret and work from engineering instructions and aircraft drawings.
- Complete tasks to the required standards.
- Perform general tasks using power tools for drilling, shimming, and sealing.
- Obtain 1st party certification after successfully completing relevant courses.
- Work in confined spaces (tank work), which includes restricted and physically demanding wing access and egress through oval-shaped manholes.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Full apprenticeship in Aerospace or Engineering.
- Indenture and City & Guilds Level 2, BTEC ONC, or Modern Apprenticeship Certificate, NVQ Level 2/3, Key Skills Level 2, and City & Guilds Level 2/BTEC ONC in a recognized engineering field.
- Self-motivated with good communication skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Openness to continuous improvement processes and new ways of working.
- Strong knowledge and high regard for Health and Safety standards.
Additional Requirements:
- Experience using hand tools and previous work experience in a fitter/assembly operator role.
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Must pass a pre-employment medical and obtain BPSS clearance.
- Experience assembling A400M aircraft.
- Completed an apprenticeship in an engineering discipline (e.g., sheet metal worker, aircraft or maintenance technician, tool maker, fitter/turner).
- Hold NVQ Level 2 and Level 3 or equivalent in engineering.
Shifts:
- Monday to Thursday, 6:30 am to 3:45 pm.
