We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Research Engineer specializing in Structural Analysis of composite materials to join our dynamic, multi-disciplinary team in Bristol. As an essential member of our composites project team, you will play a pivotal role in advancing cutting-edge research and development across a variety of industries. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise in finite element analysis (FEA) and composite structures while working on diverse projects and overcoming technical challenges.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform advanced structural analysis using finite element modeling and other simulation packages to assess composite structures under various loading conditions.
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team, considering the broader impacts and limitations of your work on other engineering disciplines.
  • Apply your in-depth knowledge of composite materials to select the most effective approaches for solving complex engineering problems.
  • Work on diverse projects across a range of industries, adapting to new and unfamiliar requirements with enthusiasm and problem-solving skills.
  • Provide technical expertise and ensure the highest quality of engineering solutions aligned with industry standards.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Significant experience in finite element analysis (FEA) and modeling of composite structures, using a variety of simulation tools.
  • A broad understanding of composite materials, with the ability to determine the optimal analysis approaches based on the unique requirements of each project.
  • Chartered Engineer status (or equivalent level), meeting the requirements of UK SPEC competencies.
  • A team player who can effectively communicate and collaborate across disciplines, demonstrating a clear understanding of the wider implications of engineering decisions.
  • Ability to navigate challenging and evolving project requirements, bringing innovative solutions to the table.


Additional Information:

  • This role is based in Bristol, with 2 days on-site each week.
  • The role does not require security clearance.
