Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Design Lead you will:

  • Create technical documents like 2D/3D designs, calculations, and bills of materials.
  • Manage the design process from concept to detailed design.
  • Ensure all project requirements are met and design reviews are completed.
  • Work closely with other teams to gather requirements and feedback.
  • Make sure safety and health regulations are followed in the designs.
  • Produce high-quality design deliverables (CAD drawings, documents, etc.).
  • Handle design changes and maintain accurate records.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Qualification in Mechanical/Design Engineering (HND or equivalent).
  • Experience with CAD software (preferably SolidWorks).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication processes.
  • Understanding of engineering standards, safety, and quality procedures.

Personal skills

The Design Engineer role would suit someone who is:

  • Familiarity with ISO drafting standards, Eurocode 3, and FMEA/HAZOP.
  • Experience in the nuclear industry and/or Pressure Equipment Directive.
  • Strong skills in hand calculations and Excel.
