Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Design Lead you will:
- Create technical documents like 2D/3D designs, calculations, and bills of materials.
- Manage the design process from concept to detailed design.
- Ensure all project requirements are met and design reviews are completed.
- Work closely with other teams to gather requirements and feedback.
- Make sure safety and health regulations are followed in the designs.
- Produce high-quality design deliverables (CAD drawings, documents, etc.).
- Handle design changes and maintain accurate records.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Qualification in Mechanical/Design Engineering (HND or equivalent).
- Experience with CAD software (preferably SolidWorks).
- Knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication processes.
- Understanding of engineering standards, safety, and quality procedures.
Personal skills
The Design Engineer role would suit someone who is:
- Familiarity with ISO drafting standards, Eurocode 3, and FMEA/HAZOP.
- Experience in the nuclear industry and/or Pressure Equipment Directive.
- Strong skills in hand calculations and Excel.
