How you'll make an impact

The client are recruiting for a full time Purchase Ledger Clerk to work at our site in Avonmouth, reporting to the Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Three-way matching of supplier invoices, purchase orders and goods received notes, via Lightyear purchase ledger software.
  • Querying any discrepancies between invoices, POs and GRNs with internal departments and with external suppliers.
  • Make weekly supplier payments via Sage Intacct ERP software, upload onto banking site, issue remittance advices to suppliers.
  • Monthly reconciliation of supplier statements.
  • Month end accruals for purchase ledger and credit cards.
  • Calculate and generate invoices for supplier rebates.
  • Assist the Finance Manager with month end activities.
  • Credit card administration – enter transactions onto Sage, reconcile statements and chase departments for missing receipts.
  • Employee expense administration – entering transactions manually into Sage Intacct and making fortnightly payments.
  • Maintenance of filing system ensuring all documents are stored electronically (we are striving towards being paperless).
  • Manage the payables inbox and supplier communication ensuring timeous feedback.
  • Other ad-hoc finance duties.

Why we're excited about you

This role will be a great fit for you if:

  • Have at least 1 year's experience working in Purchase Ledger.
  • Have a working knowledge of Lightyear and Sage Intacct, this is desirable but not essential – full training will be provided on both.
  • Have intermediate Excel skills.
  • Have excellent attention to detail.
  • Be highly organised with the ability to cope with a range of competing responsibilities and tasks whilst remaining in control.
  • Be able to work to deadlines and prioritise.
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Be a team player with a positive can-do attitude.
