Elevate Projects are workign in partnersip with our client, a local authority, to approac and appoint an expereiced interim Building Control Manager,a vital role in ensuring that construction projects are safe, sustainable, and meet all legal requirements:

1. Compliance with Building Regulations

  • Ensuring that construction projects meet current building codes and safety regulations.
  • Reviewing and approving plans, designs, and specifications for new buildings, extensions, and renovations.
  • Issuing building permits and other relevant approvals.

2. Site Inspections

  • Conducting regular site inspections to verify that construction work complies with approved plans, safety standards, and relevant regulations.
  • Identifying potential issues or non-compliance during construction and recommending corrective actions.
  • Ensuring health and safety protocols are adhered to on-site.

3. Risk Management

  • Assessing potential risks associated with building designs, materials, or construction methods.
  • Ensuring fire safety, structural integrity, and energy efficiency are addressed in building designs and during construction.

4. Communication and Coordination

  • Liaising with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve design or construction issues.
  • Providing technical advice and guidance on building control matters to construction teams and developers.
  • Acting as a point of contact between the construction team and local authorities or government agencies.

5. Documentation and Reporting

  • Preparing detailed reports and maintaining records of site visits, inspections, and compliance checks.
  • Ensuring proper documentation is maintained for auditing and legal purposes.

6. Leadership and Management

  • Managing a team of building control officers, assigning tasks, and overseeing their work.
  • Ensuring that the team is trained and up-to-date on the latest regulations, policies, and building standards.

7. Problem Solving and Enforcement

  • Addressing any deviations from approved plans and ensuring that corrective measures are implemented.
  • Taking enforcement actions when necessary, such as issuing stop-work notices or legal action against non-compliant projects.

8. Sustainability and Innovation

  • Promoting sustainable construction practices and encouraging the use of energy-efficient materials and designs.
  • Staying informed about new technologies, materials, and methods in construction and integrating them into projects where appropriate.
