- Oversee and improve SEND funding processes
- Develop new SEND places in collaboration with schools/MATs
- Negotiate and manage funding agreements and delivery timelines
- Identify and address weaknesses in financial management systems
- Ensure SEND placements meet quality and regulatory standards
- Build and maintain strong relationships with schools, parents, and internal teams
- Lead projects to deliver non-capital aspects of school place planning
- Proven experience in leading SEND funding changes and financial system improvements
- Strong knowledge of SEND statutory responsibilities and school place planning
- Expertise in negotiating and delivering SEND school places with schools/MATs
- Senior leadership experience in a local authority or similar setting
- Skilled in managing complex educational capital programmes
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Strong relationship-building abilities across diverse stakeholders
- Recognised and relevant professional qualifications e.g. teaching qualifications, social work, other level 6 qualifications, management qualifications.
- Evidence of skills, knowledge and experience to be able to assess and manage risk for the most vulnerable children.
- Work in a Social Services Directorate or other Statutory or Voluntary Agency.

- Highly skilled at building meaningful relationships with children and families to engage them in assessments and plans

- Experienced in working in a multi-disciplinary, interagency basis
