Reed have partnered with a long-standing insurance provider in Central Bristol, supporting with the hire of a Business Development Consultant on a full time, permanent basis.Â
The role has come available due to an internal promotion. This role is crucial for promoting awareness of a range of protection products and services to both new and existing intermediaries. Products such as life insurance, critical illness cover, and income protection. You will be adept at building relationships and possess a strong sales acumen.
Hours: Monday – Friday, 9-5 (35 hour working week)Hybrid: Whilst training, you will be expected to be in 4 out of the 5 days, with a 3 office/2 split on offer after, of which is discretionary. Salary: £24,000 - £26,000OTE: £30,000 - £35,000
Duties:Identify and develop new business relationships with brokers and IFA accounts through telephone calls, emails, and presentations.Support the Field BDM team with webinar and presentation follow-ups.Train intermediaries on products and systems, keeping them updated on product USPs, changes, and developments.Assist with the setup of new agencies and logins for new Network/Commission Club member firms.Engage with intermediaries following events and marketing campaigns.Monitor sales and conversion volumes from intermediaries and report findings to maximise sales opportunities.Maintain regular contact with all intermediaries to ensure satisfaction, address issues, identify improvement opportunities, and overcome obstacles to new product sales.Proactively identify and report any barriers to sales experienced by intermediaries.Maintain accurate and up-to-date intermediary records on the CRM system (Salesforce).Assist in the development and management of best practice Standard Operating Procedures within the distribution channel.Provide input to distribution plans, product development, and marketing to help achieve strategic objectives and sales targets.Review and monitor market announcements/developments to maximise new sales opportunities.Meet sales and performance targets.
Requirements:Proven experience in account managing or sales, preferably within the financial services or insurance sectors.Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders.Proficiency in using CRM systems, ideally Salesforce.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
