Position Overview:In this dynamic role, you’ll direct the growth of RT Consulting’s Defence and Government portfolio, focusing on creating high-value consulting opportunities. Leveraging your expertise in Defence, you’ll identify new business channels across MOD—including TLBs, HLBs, and FLCs and maximise opportunities through a verity of procurement and partnerships.

This role is ideal for a motivated, results-driven professional who excels at building lasting relationships and identifying growth potential in complex environments. You’ll be pivotal in executing RT Consulting’s growth strategy, ensuring we meet ambitious targets and deliver excellence across all Defence and Government projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Expansion: Develop targeted campaigns and attend industry events to attract and engage Defence sector clients.
  • Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with senior officers, MOD civil servants, and key stakeholders within Defence.
  • Strategic Growth: Collaborate across RT Consulting to align new business initiatives with our 2025 strategy, ensuring that RT Consulting remains positioned at the forefront of Defence consulting.
  • Project Collaboration: Partner with our Resourcing and Delivery teams to ensure the deployment of highly skilled personnel, providing outstanding service across all Defence engagements.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Maintain accurate CRM records and uphold regulatory standards in Defence operations.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Defence Expertise: Minimum five years of experience in Defence business development, with deep knowledge of UK Defence programs, capabilities, and acquisition systems.
  • Proven Network: Extensive contacts within MOD and the wider Defence ecosystem; adept at gaining access to senior decision-makers.
  • Project Management: Qualified or experienced in project management and adept in consulting services delivery.
  • Strategic Mindset: Demonstrated ability to shape and implement growth strategies, particularly within a consulting environment.
  • Mobility: Willingness to travel extensively (up to 75% of the time) across the UK to create relationships and pursue opportunities.
