Primary School Business Manager - BS11

School Business Manager required for permanent vacancy on a part time or full time basis within a large, friendly, inclusive and fast paced primary school in Bristol.

  • £19,971 - £35,851 per annum (depending on contracted hours per week)
  • 3 days (19.5 hours), 4 days (26 hours) or 5 days (32.5 hours) per week
  • Permanent Contract - Term Time Only plus two weeks during school holidays

The successful candidate will be a member of the senior leadership team, with responsibility for undertaking aspects of the school leadership including in financial management, health and safety, compliance and line management of administration and premises related staff (caretakers, cleaners)

About the job

  • To work within and provide specialist advice and guidance to the Senior Leadership Team
  • Effective management, reporting and recording of the school's finances
  • Organisation of school site (buildings and grounds), including repairs, maintenance and cleaning
  • Managing the use of School facilities (eg accommodation and lettings), including Health, Safety and Risk Assessment procedures
  • Line management of administration and premises related staff, including identification of training needs and facilitation of training

The right candidate

  • Relevant prior experience / qualifications in financial management, health and safety, compliance and administration
  • Full working knowledge of relevant financial regulations and associated legislation
  • Evidence of successfully preparing and managing large varied and complex budgets in excess of one million pounds
  • Experience of supervising/ managing teams of people
  • IT proficient, with sound knowledge and the ability to quickly learn new software
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both verbally and textually

The role would suit someone who has experience of working as a School Business Manager in another school, or who can demonstrate their experience and skills can transfer to a school environment.
