Job Title: Trade Area Sales Manager - Heating Controls

Industry Sector: Social Housing, Housing Associations, Housebuilders, Central Heating Controls, Smart Thermostat for Radiators, Plumbing & Heating Merchants and Distributors, Electrical Wholesale, Electrical Wholesalers, Independent Merchants, Plumbing & Heating Contractors/ Installers and small House Builders, Field Sales, Construction Sales, Area Sales Manager, Sales Manager

Area to be covered: South West and South Wales

Remuneration: £35,000-£40,000 + 8% bonus

Benefits: Hybrid Car or car allowance + full benefits package

The role of the Trade Area Sales Manager - Heating Controls will involve:

  • Field sales position selling a manufactured range of heating controls systems and newly launched smart thermostat for radiators
  • Majority of your time will be spent selling to housing associations, housebuilders, social housing organisations, plumbing & heating contractors & installers
  • The remaining portion of your time will be spent selling to / managing plumbing & heating merchants, electrical wholesalers and independent merchants accounts
  • Offering advice on promotions, merchandising (small amount), providing support, technical input, passing on sales leads etc.
  • Targeted to achieve circa £1m revenue
  • Four days a week on the road, one day a week (Friday) working from home - administration

The ideal applicant will be a Trade Area Sales Manager - Heating Controls with:

  • Ideally 2 years+ construction external field sales experience
  • Plumbing & heating/ electrical market experience is not essential but may be useful
  • May consider a branch manager for a plumbing and heating merchant or electrical wholesaler
  • Would consider someone more junior in their career
  • Ideally sold to plumbing & heating contractors/ installers
  • Ideally managed merchants, distributors or electrical wholesale accounts
  • Enthusiastic, and comfortable working with an evolving business
  • Must be IT literate
  • IEE electrical/electronics HNC / HND or equivalent would be a bonus
  • Attention to detail and methodical organisational skills
