Children & Families - Team Manager

Bristol City Council are looking to expand their current team. The Children & Families team is looking for a Team Manager to join a well-structured and organised team. As well as joining a supportive team our client also offers a competitive salary, opportunities for training to enhance your skills and potential progression within your team. This Children & Family Team Manager role will be for an initial 3-6 months with potential for extension subject to internal circumstance and your performance.

Children & FamiliesTeam Manager Responsibilities Include:

  • To lead, manage, guide and develop the practice and performance of staff within the Unit and impact on outcomes and progress of cases being worked by the Unit.
  • To ensure that critical reflection and constructive challenge is featured in all case work undertaken by the Unit.
  • Contribute to the overarching strategy of Bristol Children's Social Care Services.
  • To ensure that the Unit actively plans for safety, permanency and stability for children and young people regardless of the setting in which they've and actively supports more children to live at home safely.
  • To assume responsibility in taking action against child abuse.
  • Hold overall responsibility as lead practitioner for case work within the Unit, ensuring a systemic approach is deployed, providing individual supervision to unit staff, and directing and evaluating case and individual pieces of work as necessary to ensure desired outcomes for children, young people and families.
  • Be the lead assessor of risk to children where necessary liaising with the Area Manager on complex/high risk decision making.

Requirements / Experience preferred:

  • HCPC Registration
  • 1-2 years post qualifying experience within the UK Social Care industry
  • Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can obtain for you)
  • Eligibility to work in the UK.
