About the Role:Are you an experienced social care professional with strong leadership skills? Bath and North East Somerset Council is seeking a dedicated Team Manager to lead our Children in Care Team on a temporary 3-month contract. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage and develop a large team (or multiple smaller sub-teams) delivering high-quality services for children in care.

As Team Manager, you will be responsible for service delivery, team performance, and budget management, ensuring cost-effective and efficient operations that support the best outcomes for children and young people. Your expertise will be key in driving best practices, legislative compliance, and continuous improvement within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop a professional team to deliver effective services for children in care.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory guidance, legislation, and best practices.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and costs effectively.
  • Implement policies, processes, and service objectives to maximise positive outcomes.
  • Provide expert advice and support to staff, ensuring high-quality casework.

Requirements:

  • Degree in a relevant subject or equivalent knowledge, skills, and proven experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of social care work practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation, national codes, and statutory guidance.
  • Leadership experience in a similar role, managing professional teams.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and decision-making skills.
