Overview:

Baker Street Nursery and Preschool is a family run nursery located on Hanham High Street. Baker Street has been open for 6 years and has been faced with some of the challenges present in the early years sector over recent years. With the ongoing pressures faced by staff and nurseries, we are looking to recruit members of staff who believe that they can make a difference to the sector. The early years is such a crucial part of every child's journey and it is important now, more than ever, to truly make a difference to every child's start in life. To ensure that children are being provided with the best possible provision, we are working very closely with our team to ensure that they are provided with the best possible support and training to provide these opportunities. Job Description

  • To have a deep and thorough understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage, specifically for babies
  • To have recent experience of working in an early years setting with babies
  • To have at least a Level 3 in a full and relevant childcare qualification
  • To have recent experience of supporting and developing team members and a track record of improving practice
  • To have the ability to motivate others and inspire positive improvements in provision
  • To have a thorough understanding of safeguarding
  • To understand the assess, plan, do, review cycle and understand how to embed this in practice and with others
  • To be able to observe others and feedback in a professional and constructive manner
  • To recognise where provision needs improvements made and be able to problem solve how these improvements can be made
  • To oversee the practice of others and be able to feedback to the management team
  • To be accountable to high quality practice
Duties:
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff members
  • Lead and supervise daily activities within the nursery room
  • Plan and implement engaging educational programmes
  • Provide high-quality care and support to children
  • Create a nurturing and inclusive environment for all children
  • Manage the nursery room effectively, ensuring compliance with regulations
  • Support and mentor nursery staff members
  • Maintain accurate records of children's progress and development

Requirements:

  • Experience working with babies in a nursery setting
  • At least a full and relevant Level 3 early years qualification or equivalent
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
  • Passion for childcare and creating enriching learning experiences for young children
