Our client, Bristol City Council, is looking for a Principal Health And Safety Consultant to join their team.
This post is for a 6 month period - starting asap. Rate up to 350 a day. 4 days a week on site in Bristol split between the Parks and Harbour Offices. Fully qualified NEBOSH Diploma evidence of CPD and experience of working in public sector.
1) Seek to appoint a Senior H & S Consultant to support services. The role is be split
between each service area. 2 days at the Harbour and 2 days working with Parks. . With the overall objective to ensure that that quality assurance and compliance activities and processes are in place to meet our statutory obligations relating to the Harbour and Parks Estate.
* There will be a requirement to audit and stress test all current processes and documentation devise and deliver a programme of work which will include a list of key specific tasks.
* Devise and deliver a programme of work - to include a specific list of tasks.
Prepare a forward H & S management system based on HSG65 - including a profile of resources and service staff allocation to H & S compliance tasks.
2) The candidate will have prior experience and be able to demonstrate senior level stakeholder engagement and evidence of the ability to understand relevant policy and translate into working arrangements. They will need a strong and consistent track record of successful service delivery outcomes across a range of services related to green and blue space.
3) Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to quickly build effective working relationships and influence people at all levels.
4) Must be highly motivated able to work off own initiative as well as in a collaborative environment.
5) Must have good decision making, ability to work at pace in a multi complex and diverse service. The candidate must have demonstrable experience of start and finish project work for health and safety which are outcome based.
