About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team within an industrial FMCG environment. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing and delivering electrical engineering projects, focusing on cable laying, machine de-commissioning, and re-commissioning, while ensuring strong stakeholder communication and adherence to safety and regulatory standards. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, ensuring project goals are achieved on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead electrical engineering projects from concept through to delivery, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget.
  • Coordinate and oversee the installation, commissioning, and decommissioning of electrical systems and machinery in line with project requirements.
  • Manage cable laying and other electrical installations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including resource allocation, timelines, and budget tracking, ensuring milestones are met.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders including internal teams, external contractors, and suppliers to ensure alignment and smooth project execution.
  • Communicate technical requirements clearly to non-technical stakeholders and ensure effective communication throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues during machine de-commissioning and re-commissioning processes.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and other team members.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including drawings, reports, and other technical documents.
  • Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to address challenges and minimise project delays.

Key Requirements:

  • Qualification: UK Level 3 Electrical Qualification (e.g., City & Guilds 2365, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent).
  • Proven experience as an Electrical Project Engineer within an industrial FMCG setting.
  • Strong exposure to cable laying, machine decommissioning and re-commissioning, and electrical system installations.
  • Solid experience in managing and delivering electrical engineering projects on time, within scope, and within budget.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant industry standards, health and safety regulations, and electrical codes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating leadership in managing project teams and contractors.
  • Valid UK driving license and willingness to travel to different sites if required.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with PLC programming and SCADA systems.
  • Experience with project management tools and software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Experience in managing multi-disciplinary projects involving both electrical and mechanical systems.
