Join our college as a Lecturer in Civil Engineering. This role offers the opportunity to develop and deliver a comprehensive portfolio of programmes in groundwork and civil engineering. You will guide students from the Level 2 Groundworks to the Level 4 Diploma in Civil Engineering, ensuring alignment with awarding body standards to maintain the highest quality of education.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Develop and deliver innovative Groundworks and Civil Engineering apprenticeship plans.
  • Coordinate the progression of students through Level 2 to Level 4 diplomas in Civil Engineering.
  • Undertake a mapping exercise to assess and expand the Green Skills provision, contributing to the college’s commitment to sustainable development.
  • Represent and promote the college’s Civil Engineering programmes to key organisations and professional bodies in the Construction and Groundworks sectors.
  • Build strategic partnerships to enhance the visibility and effectiveness of our apprenticeship offerings and support the college’s Green Skills agenda.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
  • Experience in teaching or training, preferably within the field of civil engineering or construction.
  • Strong understanding of the current industry standards and educational requirements for civil engineering.
  • Ability to develop curriculum and teaching materials aligned with the latest industry trends.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to forge strong relationships with students, colleagues, and industry stakeholders.
  • Commitment to promoting sustainability and green skills within the curriculum.
