In the UK we are currently over 300 strong and our plans are to grow to 400-500 by 2025 through the development our UK nuclear service offerings.

We are going through significant and ongoing growth and as a result we are looking to recruit a Project Engineer to be based at our Avonmouth Head Office

The key objective of the role will be to act as the activating agent and liaison with various departments and Project Manager/s assigned to the project and ensure project deliverables are delivered in line with agreed contractual obligations and project expectations.

Reporting to the Senior Project Manager and Project Manager, key responsibilities of the role will be to set the direction and coordination of the design and engineering aspects of the project deliverables.

The role includes, but is not limited to, the following aspects:

  • Confirm client specifications between the project team and engineering disciplines
  • Co-ordinate the design requirements of the project with the design team, for example; drawings, tools/equipment, materials, specific design requirements for project lifecycle
  • Liaise with Project Controls on the design schedule, risks and report as required
  • Ensure Framatome Ltd are supported technically and controlled according to the best practices, meet customer requirements, and minimise risks for the business
  • Develop the support and monitor the manufacturing
  • Support the relationship with the client and all stakeholders including third parties/vendors
  • Liaise with the Quality Manager on effectively investigating NCRs and assisting with the effective close out
  • Liaise with the HSE Manager to identify design aspects that facilitate safe construct and end user operation of the product

To be considered, applicants must possess the following qualifications and demonstrate the below skills and experience:

  • Degree qualified in Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering with relative experience
  • Experience in the nuclear sector or any other heavy, or highly regulated industries will be highly advantageous.
  • Experience with site surveys, workshop fabrication and erection would be of benefit
  • Experience with AutoCAD
  • Experience in 2D and 3D mechanical design
  • Experience with AutoCAD Plant 3D and Solidworks
  • Experience in 3D models and constructability reviews
  • Understanding of welding and fabrication processes
  • Sufficient engineering capability to create effective engineered solutions
  • Ability to analyse and interpret specifications and technical procedures
  • Experience in fabrication of Stainless-steel equipment (beneficial)
  • Good Understanding of health and safety legislation in particular Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (UK regulation) (Advantageous)
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or site construction/maintenance (advantageous)
  • Understanding of Finance and cost control would be of benefit
  • Proactive, self-driven and assertive.
