Senior Flood Risk Engineer

Location: Bristol City Centre

Salary: 40k - 50k per annum + package

The role is with a Planning & Environmental Consultancy who are looking for a Senior Flood Risk Engineer to join their team. As a company they have 80 staff across multiple office locations and have been running for over 30 years.

From a technical background they are looking for someone with good knowledge of drainage strategies, flood risk assessments, SUDS and microdrainage. Experience in project management, client liaison and fee proposals would be useful to but not essential as this role will give you the opportunity to get some client exposure and responsibility of delivering projects alongside a diverse client base.

This roles sits under a Director in Bristol and alongside other disciplines such as Town Planning, Environmental, Civil Engineering etc. There is clear scope for this person to move up to Principal & Associate positions over the next few years and be the number 2 in the Flood Risk team in Bristol.

Below are the key skills for the role viewed as essential and desirable:
Essential:

  • Flood risk management experience, including the use of WinDES/Micro Drainage software and CAD
  • Experience of technically leading and managing projects
  • Preparation/design of Drainage Strategies to support both outline and detailed planning applications
  • Project management experience
  • Client facing, proposal writing and report reviewing/approval experience.

Desirable:

  • Hydraulic modelling experience
  • Surface water and foul drainage design experience
  • Sustainable drainage (SuDS) design experience
  • Autocad
