Carbon60 are looking to recruit a Building Control Surveyor for a large organisation in Bristol. This is a Permanent Full-time position with Flexible working available, and a generous pension and 25 days Annual Leave raising to 30.

Location: Bristol with flexible home working options (you will need to be able to carry out inspections)

Salary: 48,710.00 + 3000 on call allowance + cost of BSR Registration covered.

Working Hours: Monday to Friday 37 hours with Flexi Time

The Role:

  • Carry out site inspections / assessments as required in and around Bristol
  • Train and support junior staff when required
  • Enforce the building regulations and allied legislation in the capacity as a Registered Building Inspector under the Building Safety Act 2022
  • Manage development proposals through the Building Control process from the pre-application stage through to completion on site


The Desired Candidate:

  • Hold a valid registration with the BRS at class 3H
  • Appropriate qualification to pursue membership of a professional body e.g. Degree in a Construction/Building Surveying; HNC (Building or civil/ structures), graduate IFE, or equivalent
  • Sound awareness of the overall legislative context within which a Local Authority Building Control Body functions
  • Significant relevant experience of working for a Building Control Body, dealing with a broad range of issues & challenges in a major city/urban environment.
