Our client, based in Bristol, is currently recruiting for a Development Surveyor on a permanent basis.

The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis, subject to notice period. The salary for the role is £43,575 per annum, plus an extensive list of benefits.

The ideal candidate will have Social Housing or new build experience, and a sound working knowledge of the construction sector.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Ensuring all property development schemes are delivered to required standard in line with specifications and contract requirements
  • Undertaking a Clerk of Works style service for projects that are mid-contract, undertaking weekly site visits, ensuring quality control and reporting back on any issues
  • Carrying out pre-handover inspections and handover defect inspections
  • Reporting on works of contractors to senior management
  • Delivering snagging reports
  • Attending pre-contract meetings and reporting anticipated builds programmes and contractor performance
  • Working alongside Project Managers and lettings teams to ensure a smooth handover to property management teams
  • Keeping up to date with current technical legislation

Experience required:

  • Experience in the Social Housing sector is desirable
  • Experience in the construction sector is essential

Skills, knowledge and expertise required:

  • Ability to manage the work of contractors
  • Excellent written communication skills required for report writing and site updates
